Why not fill your childs ceiling with things THEY are interested in? Maybe artwork, solar systems, or even pictures of disney characters. Its nice to see your favorite things as you drift off into night night land.

DIY- Spray paint Decorations

When moving the children to their own separate rooms. We decided to find the perfect color to decorate our daughters room. So…. we went to Walmart and picked up a can of MAXX complete coverage Rich plum spraypaint.

We figured it would be the fastest way to spray paint some of her room. I decided to only get 1 can, so that I could judge exactly how many cans of spray paint it would take to spray paint the dressers and headboard. So I started on just a few items around the house that costs less than expected. The first item was a lamp that we already had, but was white. and pretty ugly

Once that was painted, i realized how many more items i had around the house that i was dying to ruin. Next, I chose a paper/magazine holder that i had sitting in a closet with nothing inside. 20160412_101759

Because my daughter loves to paint, i decided to paint a (once wood) easel . I went to the spray paint and coated the entire easel. From top to bottom.

The dry time was quick. 40 minutes i left them on the balcony. (Until the gross smell of spray-paint subsided completely.

DIY- Printable Door Decor

Searching online for door signs was a hastle I was not ready for. I wanted their door signs to be personalized for their personalities. So, I did the research needed to jazz things up a bit. I got the Login idea from a blog on pinterest, the rest was up to me. Considering the fact that my son is only 9 months old, and the only things he likes are… well… anything that can help curb the teething pains. I didnt think i wanted to put teething rings on his.. so i stuck to the infamous dinosaur theme. My daughter, likes ballerinas, tinkerbell, blues clues, horses, and music. so… I personalized hers to fit her 2 year old personality.

I sent my husband on a run to the store to pick up purple spraypaint. My only requirements were that it be: glossy, durable, and include primer (which I wasn’t sure if that’s every spraypaint ).

image

The process was 3 steps.
1.) Removal of the knob
2.) Sanding down the surface I wished to spraypaint
3.) Spraypaint far enough away to get even coverage
